Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), has an immediate need for the ABMS Program Chief Engineer (Level 5), in El Segundo, CA. The Multi-Domain Capabilities organization in Phantom Works is seeking unique engineering talent to help us develop, integrate, and demonstrate the next generation of multi-domain capabilities, command and control, communications, datalinks and networking - all in support of our warfighting community. Our team is looking to rapidly expand our baseline capabilities to support new and existing contracts and our expansion of next generation research and development efforts. We have immediate openings, entry level and experienced technical staff, for a wide range of engineering and program management talent and are excited to discuss our opportunities with you. The Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) Program Chief Engineer will oversee all aspects of the ABMS prototype Airborne Edge Node Carriage Subsystem design, development, integration, test, delivery and demonstration.The Program Chief Engineer is expected to have the following:

  • Previous experience as a technical design and development lead engineer with hardware and software development and integration oversight
  • Experience with multi-site prototype or production programs for program definition and developments
  • Experience with leading Risk analysis and management for programs
  • Demonstrated technical oversight responsibility for rapid prototype and development type programs (large multisite programs a plus)
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.Position Responsibilities:
  • Resolves complex issues on critical programs related to architectural approaches, requirements, specifications and design.
  • Leads technical aspect of proposal preparation.
  • Identifies critical performance measures and develops processes for computing them.
  • Leads activities in support of Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services.
  • Coordinates engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product.
  • Develops new concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Recommends and manages technology insertion. Works under consultative direction.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). A final U.S. top secret clearance Pre Start is required. Basic Qualification:
  • BS Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering (Master's degree a plus)
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or Physics.
  • 15+ years of direct experience in prototype or medium to large scale program definition, design, development, integration, testing, and capability demonstrations.
  • Experience with design, development and integration of networking, communications and datalink capabilities and subsystems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of hardware and software engineers through design and develop of prototype or development type programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience collecting complex engineering data from multiple sources and the ability to organize and communicate data concisely to the customer and company senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of anti-tamper cyber security technologies, methodologies, and cryptography. 30% travel required.
  • The personal flexibility and willingness to travel to customer and supplier sites as well as various testing locations during the program.
Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience).
