Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Real Time Mid-Level Software Engineer - Flight Simulation Labs (Level 3) to join the F/A-18 Development and Test Environments team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.Candidate will work in Flight Simulation Labs as part of an Agile Scrum team to produce mission systems avionics models, tools and infrastructure to support of the F/A-18 Development and Test Environment. Team is responsible for Desktop Test Environment (DTE), Systems Integration Lab (SIL) software, automated test, and pipeline of deliverable products. Candidate will work with both internal and external customers to define and implement simulation requirements. The position provides a great opportunity to learn F/A-18 Super Hornet and E/A-18 Growler avionics and architecture in addition to simulation.Position Responsibilities:
- Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
- Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Performs software project management and software supplier management functions
- Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics
- Executes and documents software research and development projects
- Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
- Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
- Works under general direction
- Ability to obtain Interim U.S. Secret Clearance (Pre-Start)
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Software, Electrical, Computing, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or similar)
- Experience in C software development
- Experience in Object-Oriented Programming
- Experience in real-time software development
- Experience in Java Software development
- Experience on F/A-18 Platform or avionics
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience)
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
