Description Job Description:Leidos has an immediate opening for an entry-level computer programmer with experience and expertise in software controls and data collection for high-energy, high-power systems. This exciting opportunity will challenge you to use your imagination and problem-solving skills to develop the next generation of directed energy (DE) weapons for the US Air Force and other DoD customers. You will join a team that conducts research, development and testing on high power electromagnetic (HPEM) components and systems at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland, AFB.Primary Responsibilities-Work with multiple engineering teams to design, develop, and document software applications for HPEM experimental test beds and prototype systems.-Design software solutions to meet customer requirements, develop and debug code, install it on workstations and microcontrollers, and provide software support and maintenance.-Develop user manuals and guides for your software products.-Support DE system testing in the laboratory and field.Basic Qualifications-A recent bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with up to two years of professional experience.-Strong communication skills with the ability to write reports and work instructions as well as the ability to elicit software requirements from stakeholders.-US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.Preferred Qualifications-Expert-level programming in C, C, Embedded C, Python, Java, and Visual Basic. -Ability to develop and maintain applications and control systems using National Instruments LabVIEW.-Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, programmable gate arrays, and imbedded controls is also favored.Pay Range:
