Job DescriptionAs a Data Analyst, Team Lead in our Stamford location, you will work with experienced industry leaders in a successful, fast-growing organization focused on securities and derivative instruments litigation settlements. You will be responsible for new client kick-off meetings, data on-boarding and tracking, interpreting, and analyzing data for quality and accuracy, creating reports, and working collaboratively with others to investigate and resolve issues. In this role, you will be a key member of the Data Analysis team which is highly visible and plays a critical role in achieving overall company goals. A competitive base salary and benefits package would be offered, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities will include:
  • Work with software developers on system enhancements, project requirements and testing, and problem diagnosis
  • Create and utilize various Tableau reports for system monitoring, problem identification, and data visualization
  • Manage datasets of varying sizes and assist in retrieving and appraising new data
  • Work collaboratively with Data Operations team members, peer leaders and senior analysts on various initiatives and projects to improve overall processing efficiency and quality of results
  • Work closely with data analysts and client services to on-board new dataset files, which involves, categorization, tracking, pre-processing jobs, data loading and pre-normalization
  • Work with SQL in querying data: data analysis, pre-processing, issue investigation, and reporting
  • Process and analyze data to ensure accuracy and completeness via SQL
  • Research inquiries, validate data patterns, and solve assigned business problems using SQL and other tools
  • Responsible for tracking and handling post-production requests which include, account management, record updates, and other claim related requests
  • Create, monitor and maintain various ETL jobs related to data on-boarding, pre-processing, data normalization and post-production requests
  • Track data issues and satisfy ad hoc analysis requests in a timely fashion
  • Monitor, identify, track, and resolve data operations issues, such as problems that occur in the data processing automation systems and various ETL jobs
  • Ensure procedures/policies are followed, while leveraging tools and reports to ensure data integrity across staging and production environments. Create new procedures/controls and improve existing procedures/controls

Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in technology or finance preferred
  • Background in Information Systems, Math, Statistics, Economics or Finance. Financial Industry experience a plus
  • Experience in leading small to medium, agile teams managing day to day operations while progressing longer term goals for the team and company
  • Working knowledge of SQL, writing SQL queries and experience using MS Excel
  • Selfmotivated, responsible, reliable, inquisitive with a high level of integrity and able to work independently
  • Tableau report creation a plus
  • Business intelligence analytics and reporting a plus
  • Detail oriented with good analytical and creative problem-solving ability with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to change.
