Our Client is a business provider of cutting-edge technology that solves tough problems for the DoD and other government agencies and clients through defense systems integration, advanced information systems, pioneering research and development, and full-scale manufacturing.We are in need of an experienced Electrical Engineer to support a team on the development of electronics and acoustic systems. The Engineer will be responsible for the design, build, prototyping, and testing of analog circuits, cables, assemblies, and systems. Duties may also include working on analysis and trade studies for further development and solution optimization. Job Duties:- Analyze and design analog and digital electronic circuits, cables, and assemblies.- Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware.- Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems including test software applications.- Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions.- Design, analyze, and test underwater acoustic systems.- Design and build prototype cable assemblies.- Perform solder rework of prototype circuit card assemblies.- Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer.- Generate design and interface documentation.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Required:- Experience in analog and digital circuit design and knowledge of signal integrity principles, schematic design and analysis, and schematic down-select of critical components.- Experience with the engineering development life cycle.- Knowledge of common communication interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN bus, LVDS, and protocols such as TCP and UDP.- Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including: creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry, and placement, signal integrity, or fitment optimization.- Familiarity with underwater acoustic principles.- Ability to create schematic designs based on functional block diagrams and/or trade studies.- Possess strong documentation and communication skills.CLEARANCE: Candidates must be able to attain and maintain a Security Clearance in order to be considered for this position.

Preferred:- Experience with MATLAB programming.- Experience with acoustics, batteries, or navigation systems.- Experience with working on submarines or underwater vehicles and electric motors.- Experience with OrCAD Capture.

Education and Experience Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field and at least 5 years of experience.
