Find your future with us.The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer (Level 4) to join the Ground Segment Engineering Capability Team. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The BDS Ground Segment Capability supports fast-paced programs across the divisions, helping programs leverage digital engineering (Model Based Engineering - MBE) resources from a ground segment architecture catalog framework.We are seeking a self-starter, self-motivated teammate to collaborate across diverse engineering teams, working to define deployment strategies while developing CONOPs, architecture, functional decomposition, requirements definition and implementation solutions. This position reports directly to the Ground Capability Senior Manager.Position responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse engineering team for architecture development and definition to support programs within a digital engineering environment.
  • Lead technical teams to ensure Ground Capability Engineering business objectives are met while supporting new business growth.
  • Lead and support the definition of functional architecture and modeling needs and coordinate efforts across teams to meet deliverables and program milestones.
  • Implement and improve best practices throughout all facets of systems engineering, and integration and test, understanding intent and need to ensure successful product development and production.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to understand technology development and integration for increased reuse of digital engineering resources (i.e. reference models, solution layer application models, etc.).
  • Support program deployment of Ground Reference Models (GRM) by converting document-based to model-based architectures.
  • Oversee Configuration Management (CM) controls and sustainment plans for regular program deployments.
  • Actively participate in mentoring program for systems engineers to instill cross functional skills in systems engineering, integration, and test in junior engineers.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Export Control:This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience in systems engineering involving: system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis and evaluation, verification.
  • Experience in developing technical requirements for a development program, including design considerations for both internal and external interfaces.
  • Experience in CONOPS development and execution of trade studies.
  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering and familiarity with developing models in CAMEO.
  • Strong written and verbal communication experience collaborating with engineering, management, and non-engineering support staff.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills to support addressing emerging program needs for deployment and sustainment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in identifying and implementing model-based systems engineering methods and standards.
  • CAMEO experience preferred.
  • Ability to proactively collaborate with technical teams, resolve logistical modeling issues and provide guidance to SMEs for implementation.
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment.
  • Experience managing work within a SAFe agile framework.
Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
