The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Air Transportation Functional Area manager and Contingency Planner as a member of the Logistics Readiness Cell. The branch is responsible for developing, evaluating, and directing overall command-wide management, control, policy and administration on deployment activities for Air Transportation personnel/units.ResponsibilitiesEvaluates, develops and directs overall air transportation planning management policies and programs applicable during contingencies for Air Force Reserve Command.Develops and manages air transportation deliberate plans, Designed Operational Capability (DOC) Statements, and provides planning and execution activities to support all possible contingency operations.Responsible for the management and oversight of all personnel and equipment within the air transportation functional area.Represents the AFRC logistics Air Transportation community at higher management-level meetings within the organization, and at MAJCOM, HAF, DOD and other agenciesRequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must be at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include transportation, traffic management, and logistics policies, concepts, principles, and methodology applicable to air, land, and sea transportation; international and national commercial transportation. Individual Occupational Requirements Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Comprehensive knowledge of Air Transportation and Air Force logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and instructions applicable to a full range of logistics management to include deployment planning and operations and logistics plans under the peacetime and wartime conditions to develop and recommend policies and procedures for the command. Knowledge of Air Transportation structure, contents, codes, internal and external interfaces, update procedures, and uses of automated logistics mobilization and planning programs and databases. Ability to organize, formulate, develop, analyze, review, plan and coordinate Air Transportation operation requirements, data, policies, and procedures. Skill in written and oral communication. Knowledge of Air Transportation programs to include internal and external interfaces, procedures, and use of automated planning programs and databases. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
