Tax Accountant Senior

Description: This position supports the Payroll Tax Team in People Services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:-Preparing weekly federal tax payments per IRS regulations-Preparing federal tax returns-Auditing state withholding and unemployment returns-Preparing month-end journal entries-Collaborating with other functional areas and 3rd party providers to resolve tax compliance issues-Supporting IRS and DCAA audits-Working assigned projects focused on process improvements and automation for the PFS organizationOther duties and responsibilities will be assigned as needed in order to support the organization. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where the ability to manage competing, multiple priorities is expected and will deliver successful business, organization and team results.Basic Qualifications:-Minimum 3 years experience working in finance and/or accounting-Prior payroll tax filing experience-Proven ability to understand IRS rules and regulations (pertaining to payroll)- and tax reporting experience-Experience with and understanding of basic principles-Proven ability to offer and execute process improvements-Strong business and professional acumen-Attention to detail-Strong Excel skills-Excellent communication skillsDesired Skills:-Strong critical thinking and analytical skills-Proficient with PeopleSoft-Proficient with LTTax or other tax software programs-Ability to work independently and partner well with others within a team-Forward thinker and change agentBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
