Monitors product for
product specifications using but not limited to the following types ofinspection equipment, air gages, snap gages, refractometer, micrometer,surface finish testers, digital indicators, scales, optical comparators,contracers, CMM and visual aids.
Reads routers, blue
prints, schematics and production schedules for product specificationssuch as dimensions, tolerance, and number of parts to be processed andwhen. Read special instructions asrequired. Records information for inspection and production using variousforms, logs and computer systems.
Verifies equipment
including but not limited to proper settings, feeds and speeds,temperatures, cycle times, pressure settings, air settings railsetting,probe settings, switches, control of pneumatic valve adjustments, feedsand speeds are in conformance to specification by using establishedstandards.
Utilizes statistical data
to determine conforming product. Analyzes and monitors scrap andnonconforming parts to aid in determining cause of failure.
Ability to start, shut
down, setup, and operate all VSI lathe, VG lathe, gundrill, and hyrodmat.
Operates overhead hoists, and hand jacks. Loads and unloads various types
of containers, which in include but are not limited to pans, bins, basketsand trays. Monitors and sets up equipment daily.
Changes and adjust:
chucks, tooling inserts, pads, holding fixtures, machining speeds,pressures and feed rates, and sets up automatic work feeding system.
Researches, analyzes,
develops all aspects of machining technology including feeds, rates andspeeds, ratios, coolant materials, tooling fixtures designs etc. todetermine specifications and feasibility of application and design to meetcustomer requirements.
Coordinates operation,
maintenance, and repair activities of machining equipment with production,engineering, and maintenance personnel to obtain optimum utilization ofmachines and hourly production employees.
Conducts training of the
appropriate employees in the proper use and setup of machines andequipment.
Writes and updates work instructions as applicable to operation.
Ability to read interpret
and follow all safety rules and regulation while perform operations.
Works with quality
assurance to improve quality and help resolve customer concerns.
Troubleshoots and performs
appropriate maintenance of the equipment by observation and generalcleaning.
Overtime is required as
posted weekly and may be mandated for this position.
Maintain high level of 5S
within all machining areas.
Initiate corrective
actions when abnormalities are highlighted and lead projects that improveefficiency.
Drive TPM projects to
deliver improved OAE results.
Develop standard operating
procedures and zone hazard analysis.
Enter proven machining
solutions into the engineering solutions database.
Any other duties and
responsibilities as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Machinist Apprenticeship /Engineering Technician or Associates degree is desired. Minimum of five year related experienceand/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
