Title:Manufacturing EngineerID:req17932Type:Full TimeFunction:Manufacturing Production / DistributionDivision:PT - Sealing and GasketsLocation:Athens, AL, United StatesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Job Overview:Responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and productsInvestigate and solve problems related to tooling, equipment, and processesSetting up critical equipment spare parts with internal tool crib, example failures between downtime and understanding reorder points and quantity’s to cover these failuresTooling Design Experience, Software, and Audo CAD drawingsWorking on Scrap Reduction processes, Root Cause AnalysisWorking with various Robotics and Vision SystemsAnalyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements and workflow, designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiencyDevelop, recommend, and implement changes which will result in the improvement of manufacturing processes and or product qualityWorking closely and frequently with hourly shop floor employees in training of mold presses, proper set uptechniques, while providing training instructions as required.Required to work with Maintenance team to develop critical preventive maintenance systemAssist the Process Line Manager in the development of capital and expense budgets.Evaluate new product and make recommendations relative to manufacturing feasibility.Train department personnel in safety, setup, operations and troubleshooting of existing and new equipment.Estimate production rates, setup and tooling cost for inquiry and new part setup.May be given certain authority within job scope by ManagerEach employee has the authority to initiate action to prevent a violation of the Tenneco Integrity PolicyAll employees will abide by the plant’s safety policy, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established, work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standardAn employee should report, and if necessary stop, any activity that does not conform to the policy or may injure himself/herselfCapable of providing support as requested by supervisorDemonstrated problem solving on the shop floorSense of urgency and results oriented a mustEvidence of Leadership characteristicsExtensive knowledge and practical applications of Lean techniquesREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree from four year accredited college or university preferred3-5 years of relevant experience as Manufacturing Engineering in the Automotive fieldTooling Design Experience, Software, and Audo CAD drawingsExperience with Robotics and Vision SystemsExperience with Scrap Reduction processesExperience with both new and old equipmentAbility to work on a “on call basis” when neededPermanent workauthorization in the U.S. required (NO sponsorship or Visa transfer isavailable for this position)Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled
