About the Role

Reporting to the Mortgage Operations Manager, the Mortgage Operations Business Analyst analyzes mortgage operations assessing the business model looking for opportunities to optimize the mortgage business process. The position works closely with Business Applications and Division Banks to identify and define business needs and standardize mortgage operational workflows.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with mortgage business constituents to identify and define organizational needs. Interprets business requirements and rules and works with Business Applications in implementation and testing of new options or upgrades within software systems. Defines, develops, optimizes and implements standard workflows across mortgage operations.

  • Mortgage operations business expert providing support and direction to Business Applications and Division Banks. Work directly with mortgage operation users to troubleshoot system questions or issues and submit system enhancements as applicable.

  • Participate in new software implementation, testing, and upgrade projects. Maintain current systems and software, releases, integration and testing.

  • Participate and/or coordinate the writing of procedures and job aids for real estate loan operations and other areas as assigned. Participate in M&A conversions for a successful addition to the Glacier Family of Banks.

  • Develop mortgage curriculum and job aids for use by Real Estate employees to train and reinforce mortgage specific origination knowledge. Work with Subject Matter Experts in certain areas to ensure understanding of the processes.

  • Manages vendors and system providers to utilize applications to fullest capacity and may process vendor payments.

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in a real estate lending environment analyzing and optimizing processes is required.

  • Experience working with loan platform software such as Encompass required.

  • Demonstrated experience working with all levels of management preferred.

  • Experience using banking core programs. Jack Henry core system is preferred.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or economics required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Thorough knowledge of various office software. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Email.

  • Knowledge of lending regulations and compliance.

  • Professional verbal/written communication skills.

  • Ability to coach and interact well with people from various loan departments.

  • Effective time management skills.

  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

  • Well organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task.

  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be capable of occasional travel (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
