The M&SA EM business designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.Combining hardware and software expertise in electron, ion, and light microscopy with deep application knowledge in the materials science, life sciences, electronics, and natural resources markets, the worldwide Electron Microscopy employees are dedicated to customers' pursuit of discovery and resolution to global challenges.How will you make an impact?The Product Marketing Engineer is responsible for supporting and assisting in the development of industry business opportunities through technical and application-based sales strategies and presenting and promoting Thermo Fisher Scientific's industrial Dual Beam (DB), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) products and solutions. They will do this by maintaining a strong understanding of customer technical requirements for existing and future products. This position promotes long term business opportunities, while supporting short term sales cycles, consistent with product line objectives.What will you do?

Support the sales account managers by conducting to the point product presentations and demonstrations showing specific industry application solutions, advanced product accessories or options

Support the business development efforts for industry market verticals in workshops, workflows, campaigns and A3 development and management tracking

Accompany sales account managers on industry customer visits to determine key application needs, decision criteria, competitive strengths and weaknesses, assist sales force in the promotion of our products at trade shows

Provide feedback from existing customers, prospects, and the sales force to assist in the definition of product configurations or enhancements that target specific markets or market segments

Work with applications development to understand and describe special customer requirements initiating the NSR for internal execution to turn the requirements into sellable products or features

Owning the iterations of the NSR requirements between the BU and the customer

Providing beta testing feedback towards applications development regarding new hardware and software pre-releases

Develop sales support materials for the industry market verticals including applications notes, competitive matrices, product scorecards and technical presentations

Develop and present technical papers based on our solutions for industry customers at professional symposia's

Keep the sales force up to date with the latest product releases, application solutions, value statements or competitive issues

Recommend, evaluate, and document our own- and third-party accessories

Work with demonstration lab staff to develop effective specialized demonstration techniques for our industry workflows

Customer support and applications training post sales cycle and after instrument has been installed.

How will you get here?

Education

Typically requires a University degree in Materials Science, Chemistry and or Physics, an advanced degree is preferred. Experience

Must have 5 or more years' experience in Microscopy Knowledge, Skills, Abilities This position is ideal for an experienced professional wanting to be involved with a dynamic team and exposed to a constant variety of customer application areas for our industry market verticals. The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

Experience with TEM, DB and SEM systems and their scientific applications for industrial customers.

Knowledge and recent hands-on experience with TEM, DB and SEM are required.

Ability to work in a team environment. Proven ability to interact with cross - functional and cross - cultural teams

Excellent, enthusiastic, clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with a diverse audience are critical to the success of this position.

Excellent customer interfacing skills a must

Ability to travel both domestically and internationally (on occasion), possession of a valid passport.

Travel requirements 50%-75%
