Position Details:

Position Title: Development Associate

Compensation: Pay is hourly, DOE

Sponsors offers generous health, dental, and retirement benefits as well as paid vacation, holiday, and sick time. Pay is based upon experience, education, and skills within the organizational pay structure.

Employment Status: Three Quarters Time, 30 hours

Position reports to: Development Director

Remote Work: Temporary Due to COVID-19

Position Overview:

Sponsors is committed to social justice and provides reentry services for individuals returning to our community after periods of incarceration. As thought-leaders, advocates and allies we strive to provide the highest quality services to those who have experienced incarceration.

The Development Associate plays a critical role in sharing Sponsors story with our community while assisting the Development Director in essential administrative fundraising tasks. This position offers flexibility with the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications:

- At least 2 years of experience in either development, marketing & communications or nonprofit administration

- Bachelor’s degree preferred

- Comfortable with technology including self-directed training and ability to troubleshoot

Development Associate’s Core Responsibilities:

1. Marketing & Communication

- Assist in the creation of a communications calendar utilizing a project management tool

- Gather content including client stories for use in newsletters, appeals, social media and on the website

- Manage social media posts and campaigns, create and manage a content calendar

- Assist in designing visually appealing content (experience with Canva, Adobe and other design applications helpful)

- Oversee website maintenance and updates, including written copy, graphic content, and staff pages

- Seek out and attend trainings and webinars around best practices in nonprofit communications

- Oversee entire life cycle of hard copy mailings: Manage the BRM account, communicate needs to the printer, ensure appropriate files are sent and invoices are paid

2. Assist the Development Director with Donor Cultivation & Stewardship

- Manage donor database: Salsa CRM, accurately track donor information including donations, preferences and details

- Prepare, print and send all tax receipts

- Build and run queries from the database to prepare detailed reports

- Increase business support by contacting businesses for partnerships and in-kind donations

- Manage and grow monthly giving program: Partners in Transformation

3. Events Planning and Coordination

- Assist in the planning, logistics, and communications for Sponsors’ biennial benefit dinner and other small community events

- Coordinate catering, set-up and take minutes for Board and Committee meetings
