Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for project management and technical writing to complete multiple Request for Proposal (RFP) initiatives. The RFPs are for technology and support services to aid the Georgia Motor Vehicle Division to continue to provide taxpayers with convenient options to register their motor vehicles. This position will work closely with business leaders, IT staff, and subject matter experts, in order to define, manage and deliver projects on time. This position requires strong communication skills, including technical writing, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to interact with all levels within the organization. It requires good customer service skills and the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with preference to technology related field PMP Certification Required 5+ years of project management working for medium to large organizations Working experience with technical writing, proofreading, and editing to create a master document Working experience running multiple projects Have an ability to set clear expectations and manage team performance Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and team-oriented environment Working experience of and competency in PMI project management processes, including planning tasks and allocating resources, risk management, issues management, time management, and financial management PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years managing medium to large procurement projects Experience in State Government Other Notes: DOR will conduct a background check on all candidates considered for the position.
