Potential for Remote Work: NoDescription SAIC is the prime support contractor for NASA's Katherine Johnson Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Facility in Fairmont, WV, and is seeking an experienced and motivated software engineer to support the Commercial Crew Program (CCP) Safety & Mission Assurance (S&MA) project on the CCP Safety Support Team. This position will support this team with skills and experience in the following areas: • Software engineering background (e.g., computer science, software engineering degree and experience, including test and verification) • Software safety experience (e.g., hazards analysis, safety analysis, fault trees, FMEAs) • Software systems knowledge (e.g., how it all fits and works together and the role SW plays in a large, complex system) • Creative, innovative (i.e., looks for new solutions, efficiencies, takes new perspectives, offers new viewpoints while also listening to the viewpoints of others) • Self-starter, self-driven, able to work with little direction, but works well in a team (albeit remote) environment Qualifications TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience ADDITIONAL BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS: • Good communication skills, ability to clearly express in written and verbal form technical issues • Experience with NASA systems and software • Experience with Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence) Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
