We are looking for a Cyber Security Analyst supporting the VA Enterprise Security Architecture (ESA) Modernization Support Program.You will be trusted to work actively with GDIT security and Cyber-Security professionals to support our VA customer. Our mission within the VA is to ensure Veteran’s information, VA information systems and infrastructure is cybersecurity ready. GDIT will accomplish this while ensuring the resiliency of VA’s cybersecurity infrastructure through proactive monitoring, adaptive responses, adherence to Federal requirements and best practices, and the recruitment, retention, and development of a world-class cybersecurity workforce.The ideal Cyber Security Analyst will have experience in coordinating with program and project leaders to document technical and organizational strategy, policy, and requirements. This resource will be able to thoroughly identify strategies for addressing requirements, risks, and issues as well as be able to conduct detailed trade-off analysis of requirements against fiscal, schedule, and performance issues.This is a fully remote position!RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides technical and administrative expertise to assigned project or tasks

Authors and updates cyber security strategy, architecture, and requirement documents and briefs

Consults Federal, VA, and industry documentation for relevant policy and best practices

Identifies key concepts, factors and risks based on conversations and document these in clear and concise narrative or graphic reports.

Develops workflow and process diagrams using Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint

Works on and sets priorities on multiple projects/tasks at once and operate in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment.

Validates that documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications

Acquires subject knowledge by collaborating with analysts and engineers.

Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

Stays abreast of both emerging technologies and evolving customer goals and objectives

Researches topics and collaborate with stakeholders to understand communication product requirements; analyzes business problems and helps prescribe communication solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related scientific or technical discipline with a minimum of 5+ years of cyber security experience or equivalent education/experience

Thorough knowledge of security principles, concepts, policy, and regulations

Familiarity with information system components, design and architecture

Must have extensive experience in the coordination of program and project leaders to identify requirements for technical documents

Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

US Citizenship is required

White House Executive Order (EO) 14028, Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity

Office of Management and Budget (OMB) M-19-03, Strengthening the Cybersecurity of Federal Agencies by enhancing the High Value Asset Program

Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) of 2014

NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF)

NIST SP 800-53 Revision 4, Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations

Possess one or more cyber security certifications, for example:

ISC2 Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), ISSAP or ISSEP concentration preferred

GIAC Defensible Security Architecture (GDSA)

Certified Network Defense Architect (CNDA)

Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+)

Familiarity with enterprise cyber security concepts, such as network security, identity, credential, and access management (ICAM), data protection, and zero trust architecture (ZTA).

Strong knowledge of IT Development, Engineering, Integration & Testing processes

Experience managing enterprise networks, network devices and cybersecurity core services

Familiarity working with VA information systems

Active VA clearance

Ability to effectively plan and prioritize tasking and communicate clearly regarding technical options and trade-offs

Knowledge of technology integration processes

Ability to brief technical and non-technical audiences and communicate on security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks

Strong verbal and written communications skills
