National Fire Fighter Wildland is now hiring a full time Level 1 Wildland Shop Tech for our Springfield, OR location. Shift: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Responsibilities will focus on fire hose coupling and testing, drip torch assembly, motor builds, pump repairs, and entry-level welding machine gun repair. visit our website @ www.nationalfirefighter.com to learn more about these products. This position will eventually progress to more responsibilities within our welding machine repair & rental department, as well as our National Fire Fighter Wildland Equipment Shop.

Working with safety as a priority, attention to detail and quality work are critical with this job—we can’t have our products fail in the field when our customers are trying to fight fires. Trouble shooting, teamwork, judgment, organization, shop housekeeping, adaptability, and confidence in acting decisively in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment are just as important. Dependability….the ability to arrive at work on time, each day, ready to work…our customers and your team will need this from you. One of the most important functions of this position is the ability to self-manage while prioritizing and scheduling your work flow. The position does have lifting requirements (up to 75 lbs frequently). Also, we are a distributor involved in sales and service of both fire suppression and welding products. If you don’t get excited about those products, you most likely won’t enjoy the work involved. You’ll want to be comfortable representing our company in a professional manner while frequently communicating with customers who need technical help with repair or want to clearly understand their product specs. And, genuine interest in and having a higher-than-average understanding for anything mechanical to effectively build and assemble this equipment will be important to your success.
