Potential for Remote Work: NoDescription SAIC is looking for a Systems Engineer to support a dynamic program in Fairmont, WV. This position will require the ability to obtain a public trust clearance. Supports the NASA Software Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Program headquartered at the Katherine Johnson Independent Verification and Validation Facility located in Fairmont, West Virginia. Performs Systems Engineering activities related to NASA software systems and analyzes NASA software for mission suitability. Includes all software lifecycle phases: concept of operations, requirements, design, code/implementation, test, and operations. Includes numerous Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) analyses, e.g. design analysis, static code analysis, independent test, system modeling, interface analysis. Provides specific, detailed information used for assessment of mission suitability and defect correction. This is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content; rather this is representative and managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee. May work under the supervison of a Project Lead or Project Technical Lead as a Subject Matter Expert; may lead more junior personnel; may serve as Task Lead, Project Lead, or Project Technical Lead . Receives assignments in the form of specific tasks for the work to be completed, or converts more general tasking to the needed level of specific detail for execution. May provide approval for work products of more junior staff members to be provided to internal or external customers; may review work products of others to measure meeting objectives and schedules. Applies technical engineering principles, theories, and concepts.Qualifications TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience. BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE: Experience and/or training in any of the following areas is beneficial: spacecraft domains (e.g. guidance, navigation and control, power systems, telecommunications, thermal control, communications and data handling, or instrument commanding and data), software languages (e.g. C/C, Java), analysis techniques (e.g. static code analysis, software test, requirements analysis). JOB COMMUNICATIONS: Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required. Experienced use of Microsoft Office and/or SharePoint is a plus.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters.
