Find your future with us.The Phantom Works Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer to support development efforts on one of multiple proprietary programs. The Experienced Systems Engineer applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex system and system of systems solutions. Evaluate needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Optimizes total system of systems and/or system architecture through integration of technical areas such as affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties to ensure mission success. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, systems engineering tools, risk management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues. Supports and guides system architects, engineering SMEs and other stakeholders in implementing, developing and managing the MBSE tools and techniques, in coordination with the lead systems engineer and System Engineering team. The ability to work in a collaborative team environment on-site and across engineering subject areas will be imperative to this role. The selected individual will work in a fast paced, innovative environment where excellent technical, organizational, leadership, written and verbal communications skills are essential.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams in developing systems to meet project/program commitments, including support of documentation, deliveries and customer reviews
  • Use Systems Engineering experience to implement, maintain, and refine the systems engineering approach
  • Support implementation of MBSE as part of digital engineering to meet customer expectations
  • Support planning and execution of program configuration and data management processes
  • Implement Systems Engineering efforts such as requirements decomposition, system architecture, environments analysis, specification development, trade studies, program planning, interface management, risk management, certification planning & execution, verification & test planning, and overall integration
  • Support execution of Phantom Works systems engineering initiatives
  • Support the integration of systems engineering, particularly MBSE, into the Digital Engineering Ecosystem to establish digital models as an integral part of the technical baseline.
  • Apply interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan, design, develop and verify complex systems solutions
  • Establish, maintain, and demonstrate traceability between the requirements, analysis, and design being developed in the Digital Systems Models within the DE Ecosystem
  • Support Internal Research and Development (IRAD) efforts within Phantom Works
  • Manage program technical metrics
  • Provide support and systems engineering content for proposal efforts
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S Secret clearance post start is required.This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering work experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD , Master+2 years' related work experience).
  • 3+ years of systems engineering experience involving system architecture development, including system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis, and verification.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, such as CAMEO or similar Systems Modeling Language (SysML)-compatible tool for systems architecture and model development.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
  • Experience across technical domains and life cycle phases
  • Experience with Mission System and Weapon System development
  • Experience with verification and/or certification efforts
  • Experience developing and documenting architecture modeling techniques and best practices (e.g. Writing or contributing to MBSE Style Guides)
Typical Education and Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
