Software Safety Engineer to join the Mounted Mission Command (MMC) team located in Huntsville, AL!

This position can be done remotely with occasional travel to Huntsville, AL

Responsibilities Include:
  • Support the development, testing and delivery of Mounted Mission Command (MMC) software
  • Review software code and intended military use/capability from a System Safety perspective
  • Identify System Safety risks, determine risk rating and probability of occurrence
  • Author Safety Assessment Reports (SARs)
  • Apply MBSE tools and techniques to capture system functions, services, interfaces, requirements, and concepts of operation to support system design
  • Support requirements analysis and functional allocation to hardware, software, operator and other segments and components of the system(s) within the models
  • Assess the software development, test, verification, and change products and identify problems and non-compliance
  • Integrate models from disparate stakeholders into a cohesive end-to-end environment to enable end-to-end architectural insight
Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience

Clearance: Must have an Interim Secret to start with the ability to obtain a full Secret Security Clearance to be considered

Desired Skills:
  • Experience supporting software safety projects; within a DoD environment is a plus
  • A solid understanding and experience applying a Modular Open System Approach (MOSA) to projects
  • Experience tracking and testing requirements to adhere to software safety processes and procedures
  • Experience authoring and/or reviewing Fault Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Mode Effects and Analysis (FMEA) documents
  • Experience working in Safety or Cyber Security
  • Detail oriented, self-starter and highly organized
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
  • Knowledge of Agile process
  • Experience working with MIL Standards
  • Experience working with DOORS
Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000.
