New Jersey Judiciary Information Technology Office (ITO) is seeking an experienced individual to join the Open Systems group in our Linux/Unix and distributed storage environments. The selected candidate will serve as a technical lead and will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the Judiciary infrastructure including Red Hat, AIX Unix, IBM/Brocades, and SAN storage. Excellent communication and written skills and a strong willingness to learn are required.

Note: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule and this position may for qualify for up to 3 days of work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access. This program does not supersede the "New Jersey First Act", which requires newly hired Judiciary employees to establish and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Effective February 1, 2022, the New Jersey Judiciary will require all state court judges and staff to provide to Human Resources either (1) proof of initial vaccination and booster against COVID-19 once eligible to receive the booster; or (2) results of weekly tests for COVID-19. This information is maintained in a secure Judiciary application that is accessible only by a limited group of Human Resources staff.

Example of Duties: Data protection using Commvault software suite Distributed storage management and privileged access management using Centrify Provide off hours support as needed and participate in the Judiciary disaster recovery exercises Plan, coordinate and execute multiple projects using several technologies to support Judiciary business functions Experience in the following is preferred: SELinux, Ansible Tower, Red Hat Satellite Advanced skills with Red Hat infrastructure platforms such as SELinux, Satellite and Ansible along with IBM Power systems Understanding of migration of hosted applications to a cloud environment (AWS) IBM storage (CSM, FS9200, Brocade SAN switches), Centrify Zero Trust Privilege Services, and CIS compliance components for servers Knowledge of AIX Unix, IBM VIO servers, and VMWare is a plus The selected candidate(s) may be required to work a non-traditional work week, which may include weekends and holidays.

Salary range is $82,069.75 - $109,595.55. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range.

Job Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and three (3) years of professional experience in: analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, resolving technical problems, testing, defining business requirements, training and/or installing computer systems applications

OR planning, acquiring, installing and implementing telecommunications facilities and services, wide area networks, or local area networks

OR generating and maintaining system software.

Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying on a year for year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. A Bachelor's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education. An Associate's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity and two (2) years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education. An Associate's Degree in any field from an accredited college or university and three years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional IT technical experience or experience related to the area to which the applicant is applying may be substituted for the required education. A Master's Degree in a field related to computer science, information technology or the area to which the applicant is applying, such as information systems, human-computer interaction, interactive media, software engineering, computer networking, and/or cybersecurity may be substituted for the required education. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the “New Jersey First Act,” all persons newly hired by the Judiciary must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
