Duties

  • Custodial duties
  • Operation of small tractors and mowing of lawns and grounds.
  • Plowing snow with small tractors equipped with plow blades, snow blowers or brooms.
  • Changing of attachments on small tractors, mowing decks, plow blades, brooms.
  • Knowledge of lawns and weeds
  • Minor carpentry repairs

  • You may be required to complete training and obtain/maintain a government charge card with travel and/or purchase authority.
  • You will be required to complete a one-year trial period.
  • You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:

  • Ability to do the work of a Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT)
  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc.
  • Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading)
  • Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
  • Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic)
  • Knowledge of materials

Must have physical ability to bend, crouch, lift and stand for extended periods of time while performing grounds and equipment maintenance-type work. Must be able to lift 50 LBS.Working Conditions:

  • Required to work indoors and outdoors in extreme cold and heat (ranging from -35 F to 100 F degrees).
  • Required to work in wind, dust, rain, and snow conditions.
  • Exposed to insects, wildlife, cuts, bruises, sprains and strains with potential for injury.
  • Exposed to fumes, solvents, acids, and mechanical hazards.
  • Required to work holidays, weekends, shifts as early as 6:00am, and be available for call-out situations year round.
  • Required to walk and drive on ice/snow covered surfaces. Required to work among visitors and employees.
