Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Business Intelligence Engineer fora FULL-TIMEassignment with one of our premier Insuranceclients in Raleigh NC or Greensboro NC. Responsibilities:
- Works with Agile Program Manager (APM), Digital Product Manager (DPM), and Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to accurately interpret systems specifications documented in Agile user stories.
- Translates specifications into engineering artifacts, which typically include design specifications, source code, test scripts and test results. Obtains approval on final design documents from APM and software architect (software engineer).
- Works with senior software development peers to ensure that the engineering realization is in accordance with Enterprise Architecture principles and software development best practices.
- As part of Agile team, completes software development work which includes application of creative design, coding and debugging methods & techniques.
- Collaborates with testers to ensure that all software components are tested adequately. Communicates any identified issues to APM.
- May offer suggestions to APM, DPM, and/or BSA on alternative approaches to achieve system objectives.
- Tracks and communicates issues to senior peers and/or APM for assistance with resolution.
- Liaises with other project and program areas to coordinate interdependencies.
- Develops and maintains a working knowledge of new technology and software engineering standards & practices.
- Design, develop, test and implement scheduled report deliveries, utilizing automated delivery capabilities.
- Write complex SQL queries to implement performant data integration and reporting solutions.
- Focus on information/data quality by continuously evaluating data standards and data profiling.
- Provide production support on a rotational basis.
- 3+ years of experience with Reporting, Business Intelligence, Data Management, and Data Analytics using market-leading tools, including standard and ad-hoc reporting, dashboards and visualization tools.
- 3+ years of experience designing, developing and implementing reporting solutions using Cognos with experience in designing dashboards leveraging visualization best practices.
- 2+ years of Cognos version 11.x experience with a minimum 1 year of experience in Cognos configuration and administration.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server database versions 2012 or later.
- Proficient in complex SQL scripting and working with very large data sets.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, SSRS, and SSAS.
- Experience or academic exposure to MongoDB.
- Familiar with database design best practices.
- Experience with Cognos 10.x to 11.x upgrade is preferred.
- Snowflake experience is preferred.
- MongoDB BI connector and MongoDB production experience is preferred.
