Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Business Engineer (combined BA/Dev skills) for a contract-to-hire or perm hire with one of our premier financial services clients in mid-town, NYC. This person will be doing business analysis and implementation of the investment pipeline and related trading applications including DealCloud, Factset, Everest etc., The selected candidate will be required to work in the NYC office a minimum of 3 days/week starting immediately. Working remotely (east coast hours) can be considered but hybrid onsite is highly preferred since you will be working closely with the front-office team. The firm requires covid vaccinations. Responsibilities:

  • Work with the business and traders as a technical BA to enhance the trading system.
  • Respond occasionally to support questions since you will be sitting with the business and traders.
  • Work on enhancements to the pre-and post-trade compliance and trading/portfolio managers functionalities.
  • Work on Deal Pipelines using tools like DealCloud and Everest. Build new pipeline and implement new workflows on these tools
  • At times, called up to work on other trading enhancements such as EMS Connectivity (to BB VCON etc.,)
  • Products traded include: Structured Products, Consumer/Residential Loans, Credit Secondaries, Research, CDO, Bonds, ABS, Factored Bonds, etc.
  • Adhere to Agile Sprint based project planning
  • Evaluate existing business processes to create specifications for the configuration of our system.
  • Create custom reports using advanced query writing skills
  • Configure system settings and options, and execute unit/integration/acceptance testing
Required Skills:
  • Business Analyst along with development experience
  • Investment Management preferably Asset Management Credits Business
  • Strong knowledge of Credit products and derivatives such as Structured Products, Consumer/Residential Loans, Credit Secondaries, Research, corporate bonds, credit derivatives (e.g., swaps, options, credit default swamps), CLOs etc.,
  • 2-3+ years of recent experience working with Portfolio Managers / Front Office personnel to support a Trade Order Management System (e.g., Everest) and DealCloud.
  • Skills to build new pipelines and implement new Deal Pipeline workflows on tools such as DealCloud and Everest.
  • Basic Python skills
  • Advanced SQL skills and ability to translate business logic and compliance rules into the necessary queries for complex calculations, including Functions, Stored Procedures, Advanced Query Writing, and Optimization
  • Data skills to manipulate data using Azure Data Services, SQL, APIs is a huge plus
  • Excellent communicator with peers, managers and business users, demonstrating succinctness and clarity.
  • Ability to take ownership of issues and follow to resolution, displaying strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Innovative approach and methodical analytical style of problem-solving.
