Python Developer Hybrid - NYCLong Term Contract Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy structured and reliable systems for core Prime Finance functions such as Risk/Margin, Equity Finance and Business Management, primarily using Python and SQL.
• Work with stakeholders across regions to understand and document business requirements, and compile structured test plans for transparency to the business.
• Work with technical teams within the firm to connect and extract data from internal systems, such as reference and market data, risk data, etc.
• Design concrete database solutions and data modelling of structured data using relational databases. Good understanding of normalized vs. de-normalized structures and uses of both within systems.

• Proficient in Python with minimum 5 years' experience. In particular:
  • Good grasp of object oriented concepts in Python, and understanding and practical usage of design patterns.
• Very comfortable with the uses of libraries such as Pandas and NumPy for data wrangling.
• Web based Python frameworks such as Django and Flask.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to manipulate large data sets
• Database technology and general data structure experience like data warehousing, marts, lakes, etc.
• Use of unit testing and continuous integration.
• Competent in use of relational databases and design of structured data (normalization and de-normalization, indexing, etc.).
• Experience working with Agile methodologies, TDD, etc.

• Experience with at least one other object oriented language (C, Java, .NET, etc.).
• Cloud experience (AWS, etc.).
• Financial sector experience
