OverviewGDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a

Sr. Manager, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence. This role can be preformed

remotely with limited travel to Central WI.

Position OverviewThe Sr. Manager, Data Analytics and BI will provide leadership and be accountable for providing business intelligence and insights to business stakeholders for different business units. You will be leading and developing a small team of analysts and data scientists, partner closely with all the business units to address business needs with data and insights. You will inform, influence, support and execute data driven strategy and research to maximize impact in the defense industry.

Responsibilities
  • Own the vision and roadmap for a Data Science and Insight team, supporting a key pillar for the company.
  • Promoting the team's mission and vision, setting appropriate data-driven goals and selecting research methods that ground decision making in evidence.
  • Guide development of data and research capabilities and tools by providing input on collection, storage, and analysis methods, while promoting data and research best practices
  • Work closely with finance, product, operations, sales, IT and other internal stakeholders to plan data strategy, scope out resource requirements, proactively identify opportunities for improvement, and build robust scalable tools to empower decision making at all levels of the company
  • Define data requirements to solve business problems and develop data solutions, across all different types of data that can address business, including but not limited to operation data, financial data, product related data, customer profile, consumer behavior, 3rd party data.
  • Define data quality guidelines and align data governance.
  • Liaise with internal teams to understand problems, manage expectations and resolve issues
  • Prototype new metrics & models to generate new insights about Defense industry solutions and customers
  • Transform data into opportunities - establish hypotheses, dig into the data, and seek to understand root causes - to drive business impact
  • In partnership with other business units, inform architectural decisions, establish best practices, develop lean scalable processes, and contribute to the overall direction of the Data organization
  • Train, develop and coach staffs on technical and professional skills.
  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated cross sector, cross segment collaboration, at the executive level (GM and above), aligning standards and resolving issues that span organizations
  • Perform other duties required for a people manager.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field and 7-12 years' experience in analytics related field. MBA Preferred.
  • Strong analytical foundation and data-driven approach to understanding a business
  • 3+ years of experience in leading and managing data analytics/ science teams
  • 5+ years of experience with manufacturing industries
  • Strong people and project management skills
  • A passion for finding insights in data and driving change based on those insights
  • Ability to communicate with and influence both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Mastery of Experience creating & deploying models in a production environment using SQL and Tableau is preferred
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Skilled in presenting organization-wide data insights to both non-technical and technical stakeholders, from individual contributors all the way up to the Executive Leadership Team.

Preferred Experience
  • Defense Industry Experience: 5 years
  • PMP Certification
  • ITIL v4 Certification
