JOB SUMMARY

Develops, implements, and manages media relations plans and activities for the organization. Manages the public relations and media relations initiatives for Campbell County Health.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Informs news media and social media of organizational developments and staff accomplishments through written and verbal communications, including press releases, press kits, and media pitch letters.
  • Responds to and manages media requests for information and interviews, including patient information, staff interviews, crisis management, and photography opportunities.
  • Serves as a liaison to the media and as a hospital spokesperson as necessary. Monitors local and national medical news peer medical centers for competitive analysis and strategic media relations planning.
  • Conducts research for project development.
  • Consistently provides excellent customner service by demonstrating flexibility and positive interpersonal relations in a high volume, high traffic and fast-paced work environment in a high volume, high traffic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Participates in cost containment, economical ordering and utilization of supplies and equipment. Completes purchase requisitions, meal authorizations and check requests as directed by the director.
  • Complies with the CCH Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and CCH policies and procedures.
  • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATION

  • Education: Associations or Bachelors Degree
  • Licensure: N/A
  • Certifications required:
  • Experience: 5+ years in strategic communications and/or public relations
  • Essential Technical/Motor Skills:
  • Interpersonal Skills: must be able to work collaboratively within communications team and with staff and leadership in other departments
  • Essential Physical Requirements: must be able to stand for 45 minutes at a time
  • Essential Mental Abilities: critical thinking, creativity, strong command of written English
  • Essential Sensory Requirements:
