Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) team located in St. Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.You will be a part of the software team that develops a broad spectrum of military simulations. The simulations include engineering, engagement, mission, and campaign level analytic war gaming and experimentation. The engineer will also work with a diverse team of skilled and motivated coworkers to collaborate on simulation software solution. The engineer is also self-motivated and has the ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment, adapt to changing priorities.This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.Position Responsibilities:
- Develop new domain specific simulation features to aid Analysts
- Maintain and support internal, Boeing-specific needs of Government provided Analysis framework (AFSIM)
- Work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Coordinate with customers and partners to better understand requirements and use cases
- Work with experimentation teams preparing for customer events to verify functionality
- Work under minimal direction
- 5+ years of experience with C programming language
- Software modeling or simulation experience
- Experience with distributed simulation, specifically DIS based
- Experience with event based simulation
- Basic understanding of Qt
- Strong debugging and problem solving skills
- Experience with AFSIM, but not required
- Experience with IWARS, but not required
- Experience working in a Scrum Agile environment
- Experience with cross-platform development targeting Linux (RHEL specifically) and Windows
- Engineer should have strong computing skills, excellent communication skills, be customer focused, positive, flexible, and a strong team player
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience)
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
