Job Description As a System Engineer II you will provide system implementation, support, monitoring and maintenance of Cerner's solutions and services. In this role, you will perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability, along with performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware/OS upgrades, and resource optimization. Implementing solutions to provide a high-quality event experience and responding to alarms in a timely manner while preventing client impact and performance degradation is also required for this job. This associate will also manage changes and project activities, and communicate with impacted stakeholders, develop, and deploy automation tools to optimize daily activities, and complete assigned incident management tasks. In addition to these duties this System Engineer II will deploy, setup, and maintain complex event environments and provide other support per service request. This position is a unique night shift requiring 12 hours for 5 nights, then 5 days off, then on for 4 more nights. Repeating 554, throughout the year, working 14 nights every 28 days. Working Environment Onsite: No Relocation Assistance Offered This position offers an Onsite working environment. Meaning you will primarily work in a Cerner office or client site. If your current geographical location requires relocating, Cerner will not offer relocation assistance to the specified location. #LI-OnsiteQualifications Basic Qualifications
- At least 6 years total combined higher education and related work experience, including:
- At least 1 year System administration and/or system engineering work experience
- At least 5 years higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job, including:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Skilled at multi-tasking, prioritization. Ability to work independently and as a team on larger projects.
- Willing to work night shift requiring 12 hours for 5 nights, then 5 days off, then on for 4 more nights. Repeating 554, throughout the year, working 14 nights every 28 days
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs., i.e. server, network equipment
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
- Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
