Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Embedded Real time Software Engineer to join the MQ-25 Mission Management System (MMS) Software team located in Hazelwood, MO.The MQ-25A Stingray will be the world's first operational, carrier-based unmanned aircraft and pioneer the integration of manned and unmanned systems within the carrier air wing. The Mission Management System (MMS) team is developing and integrating an MQ-25 avionics software suite that provides communication and control with various sensors, radars and the refueling store.We are looking for engineers who want challenging and unique opportunities to develop real-time embedded avionics software for the world's first operational, carrier-based unmanned aircraft.This position allows telecommuting (hybrid). The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Hazelwood, MO, consistent with the program expectations.Position Responsibilities (Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following):

  • Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Performs software project management and software supplier management functions
  • Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics
  • Executes and documents software research and development projects
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
  • Works under general direction
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret DOD clearance US Security clearance (post-start)Basic Qualifications (Required qualifications):
  • 3+ years' experience programming in C
  • 3+ years' experience in embedded real-time software development
  • 1+ years' experience in full software development life-cycle
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience developing software for unmanned or manned tactical aircraft mission systems in the areas of tactical communication systems (wideband SATCOM, Narrowband, CDL, Link16, Voice comm etc.), sensors (EO/IR, ESM, SIGINT, etc.), Stores Management System, Navigation, OMS or cyber security
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Experience working with software version control tools such as ClearCase or Git
  • Experience developing software services using the Boeing AvionX Defense Mission Computing (Phantom Fusion) infrastructure
Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
