Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking associate Software Engineers (Level 2) to develop modeling, simulation, and laboratory products for multiple projects on our Flight Simulation | Labs team located in Berkeley, MO. Flight Simulation | Labs provides comprehensive simulation and laboratory solutions for the design, development, and deployment of Boeing St. Louis defense products. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.The Flight Simulation | Labs Software Engineer will design, develop, integrate, and test real-time models, tools, and operator-in-the-loop simulations of aircraft systems, displays, and tactical environments. These simulation products are utilized in the validation of current operational avionics, sensor, and weapon systems, as well as in the prototyping and development of next generation systems, for Boeing Defense platforms such as the F18 Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler, F-15 Eagle, T-7A Red Hawk, MQ-25 Stingray, and other advanced aircraft.The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment, while working creatively in all phases of the software development life cycle.Position Responsibilities:
- Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
- Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Performs software project management and software supplier management functions
- Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics
- Executes and documents software research and development projects
- Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
- Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
- Works under general direction
- Ability to obtain a Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or other technical degree
- Work related software experience with one or more of the following languages: C, C, C#, Java, Python
- Active US Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance
- Experience with Windows development environment
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, JIRA, Version One
- Experience with Real-time or embedded software development
- Modeling & Simulation software development experience
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics (e.g. Bachelor's Degree) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience; or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master's Degree)
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
