Wisconsin, Milwaukee , 53201 Milwaukee USA

POSITION OVERVIEW

At Retrospekt, we restore vintage items to look and perform as well as they did in their prime for customers all around the world. Polaroid cameras from the 80’s and 90’s, cassette players and radios, roll film cameras, Gameboys, and even VCRs are just some of the items you’ll find our team bringing back to life for another generation.

Successful Refurb Techs will master numerous duties relating to the efficient testing, restoration, and packaging of these products, with the ultimate objective being to create retail-ready goods. These tasks may include:

- Testing, repairing, cleaning, and packaging various vintage products to fulfill wholesale and direct-to-consumer orders

- Quality checking the work of your peers

- Various preparatory tasks for the assembly of custom vintage Polaroid cameras (such as disassembling cameras, cleaning camera internals, applying custom decals to small parts, painting camera parts in our paint booth, etc.)

- Assembly of custom vintage Polaroid cameras

- Assisting other departments or helping with special projects as needed

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent in order to be considered for this position. No prior refurbishment or repair experience is required; we’re simply looking for positive, hard-working, and reliable people to join our team. All training related to the refurbishment of goods will be provided on the job.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a curious spirit - someone who is eager to grow, ask questions, and learn new things. Having a willingness to hear and apply constructive feedback is crucial, as this is understandably a huge part of the training process when someone is learning new refurbishment tasks.

Most of these tasks have set productivity standards that each team member individually works to achieve during their shifts. While group projects do regularly arise (for example: assembling custom Polaroid cameras as a group assembly line), the overall nature of this position is rather independent once the bulk of one’s training has been completed. For that reason, this role is best suited for folks who are comfortable working independently for extended periods of time. Listening to your own music, podcasts, audiobooks, etc. using headphones is both allowed and encouraged!

Anyone who is passionate about art, music, analog photography, retro gaming, or vintage goodies in general will have plenty to talk about with the rest of our team :)

If this description sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
