Job/Position Summary

PMP is seeking to add a Shipping Coordinator/Shop Floor Assistant to its Cody team. This is a multi-functional position. Generally, the individual holding this position will coordinate and perform all shipping activities related to both outgoing and inbound shipments, including critical record keeping, documentation, and packaging of product, as well as the coordination of carriers. He/she will also spend a significant portion of time performing parts finishing tasks and general and miscellaneous tasks on the shop floor.

Position Specific Essential Functions:

Shipping & Receiving

  • Coordinates and performs all shipping and receiving activities with Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management Departments in support of the production schedule.
  • Coordinates outgoing and inbound shipments of parts and materials with Purchasing Department and Project Managers as necessary, including shipping priorities.
  • Establishes strong working partnerships with shipping, delivery, and transportation providers; coordinates shipping and transportation with other PMP facilities and UPS, FedEx, or other delivery or transportation agencies, including utilizing Company and agency software for summary or other reporting on request.

Parts Finishing

  • Operates equipment as directed.
  • Cleans, washes, packs, deburrs, and polishes machined components and parts using hand tools or powered equipment in accordance with customer specifications and established procedures.
  • Stamps, etches, and marks parts in various manners for purposes of identification.
  • Performs assembly functions.
  • Using inspection equipment, performs in-process and final component and part inspection as required to ensure 100% product quality

Shop Assistant

  • Performs tasks related to maintenance of the physical facility, machinery, and other manufacturing activities.
  • Provides support to production staff as directed.
  • Operates saw equipment.
  • Assists in the unloading and proper storage of material.
  • Responsible for housekeeping, janitorial, and shop cleanliness.
  • Assists with preventative maintenance schedules for all machines.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Mechanical ability/mechanically inclined.
  • Must be versatile, able to move easily and successfully from one task or activity to another.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often very small
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform “fine detailed” work accurately and thoroughly for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • MRP system knowledge/experience a plus.
  • Above-average computer skills including use of Microsoft office programs.
  • Knowledge of basic rules and regulations of shipping carriers, US & International preferred, but not required.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid Driver’s License (State of Wyoming)
  • Ability to operate/handle general shop/production equipment, including forklift. Forklift experience preferred, but not required. With or without previous forklift experience, Employee must complete in-house training and pass exam within 30 days of date of employment.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and problem solving skills; strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to take and follow direction well with a commitment to results.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Capable of working a consistent schedule; committed to adhering to established work schedule with minimal absences or tardy occurrences.

Education & Employment Eligibility/Verification

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • MUST be U.S. persons within the meaning of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Position Schedule & Particulars

  • Full-Time / 1st Shift
  • Monday through Friday | 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • 40 hours per week required minimum. Over-time available as necessary, with Plant Manager approval.

Compensation

  • Competitive Wages Paid. Compensation at hire is based on job knowledge and experience.
  • Future compensation increases are based on job knowledge, performance, competence, and skill, including soft skills.
