Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Level 4) to join the Flight Simulation Labs team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.The Boeing Flight Simulation Advanced F18 group is seeking an individual with a software engineering and design background. This team currently works on advanced fighter programs, trainer design/delivery and business development support. There can be some travel related to these activities.Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
  • Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities
  • Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
  • Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
  • Works under minimal direction
This position requires Onsite work but portions of responsibilities may be able to be work virtually.Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position requires the ability to obtain s secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Ability to obtain Final Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree
  • Multiple years' experience in software design/integration
  • Program/project leadership
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in Real Time simulation software experience
  • Ability to lead programs and interface with internal/external customers
Typical Education/Experience:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience)
  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Travel: Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
