Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a MQ-25 Vehicle Management System (VMS) OFP Principle Software Engineer to join the MQ-25 team located in Hazelwood, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Autonomous Systems Division MQ-25 program in the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.The selected engineer will be the principle engineering lead and subject matter expert for the MQ-25 Engineering, Manufacturing and Development (EMD) VMS Operational Flight Program (OFP). Candidate will coordinate closely with the MQ-25 VMS OFP software manager and MQ-25 Software AIT manager to resolve technical issues, prioritize software team execution, and ensure timely delivery of products. Candidate will be the primary technical subject matter expert to review change requests and proactively work with the customer plus other engineering teams on technical trades. Candidate will serve as the technical lead for approximately 20 VMS OFP software developers. This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite, about 40% of weekly effort will be on-site in the Hazelwood office.Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads development of solutions to unprecedented and complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
  • Explores the enterprise and industry for state of the art methods, tools and processes applicable to software evaluation and test.
  • Leads integration of new tools, processes, etc to improve productivity.
  • Resolves complex embedded software and software verifications issues that span functional domains, programs and business units.
  • Advises management on a wide range of high leverage embedded software and software verifications issues.
  • Fosters and develops more junior software engineers.
  • Works independently
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).Basic Qualifications: (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)
  • 10+ years' experience in Vehicle Management or Flight Controls OFP development
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded real-time software development in avionics missions
  • 10+ years of experience in software development and configuration management (CM) tools
  • 3+ years prior technical leadership experience
  • 3+ years of experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD)
Preferred Qualifications: (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Familiarity with Greenhills Integrity OS
  • 3+ years Ada development experience
  • Prior background with MQ-25 vehicle management and/or MQ-25 vehicle architecture
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Experience with BDS common software metrics and metrics playbook
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool chain.
  • Experience presenting design concepts and trades to customers
  • Experience with Earned Value Management, planning and estimating
Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD +15 years' related work experience, Master +18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Travel: Position may require infrequent travel, less than 10%.
