Associate Roles and Responsibilities
JOB TITLE: Server
JOB STATUS: FT/PT
REPORTS TO: Hearth and Hill Leadership Team

POSITION SUMMARY
Servers will provide the highest quality guest experience through friendly knowledgable service; will guide diners through their meal, anticipating needs, making the guest feel comfortable and welcome; will be passionate about food and beverage and will be friendly outgoing and able to read a table, all while supporting the Hearth and hill team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet guests, welcome them into our space, through information regarding concept and stories
Provide superior service to all guests, through close adherence to steps of service, attention to detail and personal involvement with the guest experience
Present professionalism at all times in manor and appearance, relating to HH Dress and Grooming standards
Perform shift opening checklist
Maintain cleanliness of common areas
Comprehensive knowledge of current menus and products through training opportunities for continued learning
Bring immediate attention to substandard quality of service, food, or beverage
Adhere to sanitation and safety policies and ensure that all service is in compliance with Utah alcohol laws
Coordinate and communicate proactively with all associates
Detail oriented control of all procedures involving guest orders, cash procedures, POS system, guest checks and server close out
Complete closing duty checklist and weekly checklist items. Support all staff in any other tasks that require completion or are asked by a manager
Connect with customers while anticipating their needs
Clear product knowledge (including wine, beer liquor, food)

CREDENTIAL AND EXPERIENCE:
Possess a High School Diploma
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
Knowledge of relevant health & safety regulations & procedures
Food handlers & beverage service permits
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to bend, lift, push & carry heavy objects
Ability to carry 50 pounds
Demonstrates single-hand tray service proficiency
