Klickitat Valley Health is searching for an energetic passionate individual to lead our well-established Patient Financial Services department that consists of approximately 12 team members. This position also has oversight over the Hospital Registration department and works closely with other departments to ensure accurate billing processes are in place for maximum reimbursements.

The Patient Financial Services Director plans, organizes, and directs the overall operation of the Patient Financial Services Department and patient registration functions, in accordance with KVH policies and procedures; consistent with the achieving alignment with the vision, mission, and values of the organization. The Patient Financial Services Director works closely with the Controller in achieving organization financial goals for accounts receivable (AR) days and collection on accounts, and is responsible for managing all aspects of the billing and collection of patient accounts and the registration of patients admitted to KVH. The Patient Financial Services Department functions consists of: patient account billing, credit/collections, receipt/payment/cash processing, and patient registration/admission. The Patient Financial Services Director has responsibility for: establishing admission/billing/collection policies and procedures; reporting on patient account processing/collections (cash collections, days outstanding, accounts unbilled, claim denials, bad debt/charity accounts, etc.); selection, scheduling and/or managing of all subordinate staff. The Patient Financial Services Director demonstrates excellence in customer service during interactions with patients, families and other customers and works collaboratively with colleagues and departments throughout the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications):

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in either Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in either healthcare or general business management required.

Experience:

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in an accounting/medical office billing capacity with direct involvement with medical insurance processing experience (Medicare, Medicaid, private/commercial, etc.) in either a healthcare or insurance company environment required.

A minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
