The team you’d be leading consists of talented developers, analysts, and architects who deliver innovative value-added solutions, in partnership with our Product Owner, stakeholders, and other teams in IT, all while living and breathing WWT’s core values.Job Role and Responsibilities

  • Promote World Wide Technology core values, corporate goals, and departmental initiatives
  • Grow and develop members of your team: understand their goals and work with them to achieve, provide real-time coaching and engage in difficult conversations as needed, recognize and reward the right behaviors
  • Provide input into team members’ compensation, hire/performance improvement/fire decisions and promotions
  • Create and foster an atmosphere of mentoring, quality, diversity, collaboration and improvement by actively coaching your team members
  • Provide technical and functional leadership while promoting best practices and direction to team members
  • Ensure applications owned by the team are stable, easy to use, and self-service oriented
  • Participate in the design of complex solutions
  • Advocate innovative approaches to solutions and application delivery
  • Escalate and remove impediments from the teams to help them be as effective as possible
  • Hold the team accountable for meeting commitments while adhering to the organization's quality, methodology, and architecture standards
  • Lead major projects and complex assignments with broad and ambiguous scope
  • Prepare and deliver informal and formal presentations to own team, department, other IT teams, and business partners
  • Proactively identify and help solves issues as part of your leadership team
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a technical related field
  • Minimum 7 years progressive experience as a web developer
  • Experience with various development frameworks/technologies such as (not all are required but experience in both front-end and backend is)
  • HTML5, CSS3, Vue.js
  • JavaScript, Node.js
  • Java, Groovy/Grails
  • Databases such as Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL), MongoDB, Postgres
  • RabbitMQ, JMS, or other messaging systems
  • Understands SOA principles and how they apply to Enterprise IT
  • Able to explain the benefits of Software Development best practices such as Test-Driven Development, Pair Programming, and Continuous Integration
  • Passionate about developing people to their full potential through coaching, mentoring, and servant leadership
  • Self-motivated and exemplifies WWT Core Values
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Possess a solid understanding of Agile and Scrum principles
