Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works organization is seeking a Senior Mechanical & Structural Engineering Manager (Level L) for proprietary activities in advanced structural applications. You will be managing a team of professionals developing advanced structural concepts with applications to future air vehicles.Primary responsibilities:

  • Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Security Clearances:This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)This position requires ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance post start.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience working with aircraft structural design and/or stress analysis/structural analysis
  • 5+ years of aerospace engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams/projects
  • 3+ years of experience mentoring, coaching teams
  • Ability to travel 10%
  • Experience with planning, scheduling, and work scope execution.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with Full Scale Determinant Assembly (FSDA) design and implementation (per BAC5114 or PS24001).
  • Experience with the analysis and design of advanced composite structure.
  • Experience with reduced RADAR cross section structures and materials.
  • Experience with the full air vehicle development cycle, including the integration of Loft, Loads, Dynamics, and Materials and Processes in structural development.
  • Experience in a rapid prototyping environment. Experience with "clean sheet" structural configuration work.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
  • Working Knowledge of JSSG-2006 and MIL-HDBK-516
