Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works organization is seeking a Senior Mechanical & Structural Engineering Manager (Level L) for proprietary activities in advanced structural applications. You will be managing a team of professionals developing advanced structural concepts with applications to future air vehicles.Primary responsibilities:
- Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering.
- Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
- Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- Experience working with aircraft structural design and/or stress analysis/structural analysis
- 5+ years of aerospace engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience leading teams/projects
- 3+ years of experience mentoring, coaching teams
- Ability to travel 10%
- Experience with planning, scheduling, and work scope execution.
- Experience with Full Scale Determinant Assembly (FSDA) design and implementation (per BAC5114 or PS24001).
- Experience with the analysis and design of advanced composite structure.
- Experience with reduced RADAR cross section structures and materials.
- Experience with the full air vehicle development cycle, including the integration of Loft, Loads, Dynamics, and Materials and Processes in structural development.
- Experience in a rapid prototyping environment. Experience with "clean sheet" structural configuration work.
- Experience with Earned Value Management.
- Working Knowledge of JSSG-2006 and MIL-HDBK-516
