Staff Accountant

DescriptionAccountemps is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with an eye for accuracy to fill a long-term temporary-to-full-time position at a growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Based in the Norcross, Georgia region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.Your responsibilities in this role

Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings

Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

Requirements

Solid understanding of Great Plains (GPAC)

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Be detailed, flexible, and organized

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

Efficient in ERP systems

Self-starter and strong ethical standards

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

Competent with spreadsheets and databases

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
