Find your future with us.Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) is looking for a highly capable Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 2) to join our Structures Technology team in Berkeley, Missouri. This person should possess a demonstrated background in theory and application of advanced finite element analysis to solve challenging engineering problems related to commercial aerospace, military aerospace, and space structures.A successful candidate will flourish in an environment of challenge and opportunity on multiple projects in the areas of Structural Technology Research and Development, and Air Vehicle Program Support. This is a position within BR&T Structures Technology located in the greater Saint Louis, Missouri area. Successful candidates will have the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical persons, ability to carefully document technical findings, results, and critical lesson learned, and technical acumen in the domain of advanced structural analysis of composite and/or metallic aerospace structures.Position Responsibilities:
- Performs structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
- Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Defines and documents analysis and test results to substantiate for customers that requirements are satisfied
- Support the planning and development of research and development programs including writing technical proposals
- Works under general supervision
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics
- Experience with finite element modeling structural analysis methods and tools
- Experience working with aerospace stress analysis/structural analysis
- Experience utilizing industry CAD systems (e.g. PRO-E, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, NX/Teamcenter, CATIA/ENOVIA)
- Experience utilizing FEM software (e.g. ABAQUS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, Stresscheck, Hyperworks)
- Experience or training with computer programming languages (e.g. Matlab, FORTRAN, and/or Python)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an engineering
- Experience with structural analysis and process modeling of additive manufactured structures
- Experience with structural optimization
- Experience with analysis and testing of composite structures
- Experience with high temperature thermal-structural analysis of metallic or non-metallic structures
- Experience non-linear explicit impact/crash analysis
- Experience with metallic fatigue and fracture analysis and testing
