Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team, located in Hazelwood, MO, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis EngineerThe Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis (MSDA) team in the St. Louis Mechanical and Structural Engineering Processes, Tools & Training Organization is looking for a candidate interested in supporting and developing expertise in the maintenance, improvement, user support and training of the processes and tools used to design and analyze fuel, hydraulics, environment control, mechanical systems, and their integration with CAD, databases, and other disciplines such as control, secondary power and electrical systems. Specific MSDA processes and tools include but not limited to AMESim, Thermal Desktop, Ansys Fluent NX, NX Mechanical and Electrical Routing, NX Motion, other legacy tools, and the team websites and repositories. The successful candidate should have experience with one for more of the disciplines and tools above.Position Responsibilities:

  • Supporting or leading the evaluation, testing and deploying of new versions of software
  • Working with software vendors to fix identified software issues, guiding users with software usage and other technical issues
  • Coordinating with program focals to identify issues and improvements
  • Coordinating with software vendors to resolve issues and implement improvements
  • Developing, updating and providing training
  • Collaborating with other Enterprise organizations to evaluate and recommend state of the art and innovative integrated model based engineering solutions.
  • The individual will provide expert consultation and act as advisor to engineers, management and customers in skills area of MSDA design, analysis, processes, tools and training.
  • The individual will also provide coaching and mentoring to the MSDA user community and team members.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires ship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems design or analysis
  • 5+ years of experience do you in mechanical design on mechanical systems, air vehicle systems or propulsion systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of application development experience in one or more programming languages such as C#/C-Sharp, .NET, Java, C, C, FORTRAN and Web/HTML technologies (Javascript, jQuery, HTML5, web services, REST, microservices etc.), Config Management tools like Azure DevOps(ADO)/TFS, Git and others
  • 3+ years of experience using UG NX6 or above
  • 3+ years of education and/or work experience testing software applications
  • 3+ years of experience with processes analysis, processes development, and process improvement?
Typical Education/Experience Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
