Find your future with us.Boeing Global Services BGS is seeking a Tomahawk Mission Planning Program Manager in Hazelwood, MO. In this role you will lead all aspects of the Tomahawk Mission Planning program. The primary focus of this program is developing mission planning solutions for all variants of the Tomahawk missile for the US Navy and FMS customers. Job duties include managing teams consisting of system/software engineers, field service representatives and support personnel, involved with system design, requirements analysis, coding and testing, system documentation, and integration activities for the Tomahawk Planning System (TPS). TPS software is used in planning the routes and binary missions for the Tomahawk missile. The team develops and maintains the software applications used to plan the missions at the operational planning organizations.Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical direction and guidance to others regarding approved processes, tools, technology and skills for own projects or processes.
  • Ensures work statement is completed on schedule and budget.
  • Support, lead, and delegate the program's responsibilities and tasks through all stages of the project life cycle.
  • Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Provide on-going developmental feedback. Recognize contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Maintain coordination with the Tomahawk planning organizations at CMSALANT, CMSAPAC and CMSAUK to gather new requirements and change requests.
  • Manage 7 FSRs at the Tomahawk planning/testing organizations at the WPC, CMSALANT, CMSAPAC and CMSAUK.
  • Work with Tomahawk program office in Pax River, MD.
  • Manage cost/schedule/delivery performance to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Collect and analyze metrics at predetermined intervals to manage overall program health.
  • Forecast resource needs and obtain and manage personnel, facilities, services, equipment and tools to meet program and daily operating requirements.
  • Develop and execute project plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with the organization's defined process set to maintain CMMI Level 3.
  • Support various management meetings with briefs on program status.
  • Work with the Mission Planning Director on strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports.
  • Mature team in software development practices and driving shift to new technology and refactor of TPS code to modern code languages.
  • Manage multiple contracts with multiple requirements.
  • Manage cybersecurity team that maintains development system and operational planning systems.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited course of study.
  • Experience with managing or leading a team of engineers
  • Experience with program management, including scheduling and cost management
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience working within accepted project management standards
  • 3 + years of engineering experience preferably associated with software development
  • 3 + years of Mission Planning experience or prior aircraft experience working within a multi-disciplined integrated product team environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with Risk, Issue and Opportunity management principles and tools and the ability to apply them in various situations.
  • 3+ years of previous management experience of teams with 15 or more employees
  • Remove 3+ years of prior experience working with DoD
