Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Phantom Works Advanced Weapons Software Engineering Manager (Level K) to join the Advanced Weapons Software team located in St. Charles, MO and Huntington Beach, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Software Engineering organization.The Advanced Weapons Software Manager is responsible for the leadership of a team of software engineers that develop mission computer software for Phantom Works weapons programs. This position requires an experienced background in developing software including the use of agile processes and lifecycle management tools and open architectures.Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start). Ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance required (Post-Start).Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)
  • Bachelors, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience in embedded software development
  • 3+ years of experience in leadership either formally or informally leading teams in a development environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 1+ years of experience with software processes
  • Experience working in a partnership relationship either internal or external to Boeing
  • Experience within Agile and/or SAFe Lean-Agile principles and practices
  • History of the ability to remove obstacles for individuals/teams
  • EVM (Earned Value Management) experience
  • Defining and Estimating work scope for a team in a development environment
  • Experience with the life cycle of development and test of flight software products
Typical Education/Experience:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 7 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+2 years' related work experience, Master+5 years' related work experience)
  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Travel:Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
