Tapestry Solutions supports 85 defense, commercial and government customers from over 50 US locations and nine countries.Tapestry Solutions a Boeing Company is seeking a Systems Engineer in St. Louis City, MO., Maryland Heights, MO. or St. Charles, IL.This role will join the System Team of the Mission Planning Organization to ensure the delivery of quality products to the United States Air Force (USAF), Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers and United States Navy (USN). The role will also be an integral part of the migration to the next generation mission planning system over the next five years. Specifically, working in a common development and integration environment where customer requirements are updated and shared in real time to allow for accelerated software releases.Position Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis to optimize total system and/or system architecture to solve complex mission planning problems
- Act as a configuration management (CM) specialist for baseline identification and prep, control of documentation of the program (support Engineering change process)
- Create and develop a system integrated CM plan based on Boeing's best practices
- Responsible for effectively tracking, logging, categorizing, and maintaining changes the product
- Establish a Change Control Board (CCB) with relevant stakeholders, product developers, et al, and define/document/maintain the CM processes defined in the CM plan
- Manage and facilitate the CCB, including developing, distributing, and tracking all product deliveries and all associated change packages
- Apply interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches to plan, design, develop and verify system solutions
- Define and coordinate system performance requirements and integrate technical parameters
- Define high level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation
- Perform analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, survivability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, product security (cyber security) and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
- Utilization of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo and mathematical modeling and simulation to develop system definitions and perform trade studies in assigned areas
- Perform risk assessments and generate mitigation plans for various programs with regard to compliance with system requirements and customer capabilities
- Develop verification and validation methods, processes, logic, and plans in support of program milestones
- Develop and document software system requirements
- Analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
- Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
- 3+ years of experience in software system engineering, software requirements development, and software requirements management
- 1+ year as a configuration management specialist in a complex product development environment
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other technical degree
- Experience with software configuration management tools such as Team Foundation Server/Azure DevOps, JIRA etc.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as JAMA
- 1+ years of experience with Scaled Agile Framework or Agile Methodologies
