Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is seeking a Mid-level Software Developer to join the computing team that will be working in Boeing IT Product Systems organization on development, maintenance and integration of software tools supporting the BCA and BDS Engineering organizations located in Everett and other Puget Sound locations in Washington. The software tools are developed and run on various operating systems including but not limited to Unix, Linux and Windows on premises and on internal and external cloud.The primary responsibility of this position is to develop software for Analysis and Simulation teams for Enterprise Structures, EME and Flight Sciences portfolio of applications that support core engineering design applications for airplane design and development. You will be part of a team of software developers/engineers and will collaborate as part of a SAFe Agile team. In addition, this role requires continuous interaction with the business and User Experience team members.Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with System and/or Technical Architects, UX Designer and Business SME to design systems and applications to meet highly complex business needs
  • Work as part of Agile teams using Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Work with Product Owners to understand business needs.
  • Work with Product Managers and UX designers to define application requirements
  • Code, Test, Debug, Implement, Deploy, Document and Maintain/Sustain software applications
  • Employ CI/CD DevOps processes with Azure DevOps/TFS and/or Gitlab
  • Engage in Pair Programming, Conduct peer reviews
  • Experience with Azure or AWS development is a plus.
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Application development in one or more programming languages such as C#/C-Sharp, .NET, Java, C, C, FORTRAN AND Web/HTML technologies (Javascript, jQuery, HTML5, web services, REST, microservices etc.), Config Management tools like Azure DevOps(ADO)/TFS, Git and others
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering and/or similar field of study with focus on Software Development study
  • Knowledge of database design, development of queries in Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL is a plus
  • 6+ years of experience developing software in an Agile Software Development team
  • Candidate should have strong computing skills, excellent communication skills and be customer-oriented.
  • Experience with development & deployment on Cloud platforms such as Azure, PCF, OpenShift and AWS.
Typical Education & Experience:Education/experience acquired through advanced technical education (Bachelor in Computer Science or other equivalent degree with Computer Science/Computer Engineering focus) and 6 or more years of software industry experience or military experience.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
