DESCRIPTION The Marketing Tech and Science team helps customers discover and engage with new, popular and relevant products across Amazon worldwide. We do this by combining technology, science, and innovation to build new customer-facing features and experiences alongside cutting edge tools for marketers. You will be responsible for creating and building critical services that automatically generate, target, and optimize Amazon's cross-category marketing and merchandising. Through the enablement of intelligent marketing campaigns that leverage machine-learning models, you will help to deliver the best possible shopping experience for Amazon's customers all over the globe.As a software engineer on the team, you will have the opportunity to design features for and experiment on hundreds of millions of customers all across the globe. Our experimentation centers on Machine Learning enhancements to product advertisement and marketing. The team focuses on feature development that helps vend the most relevant products to customers at any point in their shopping journey. We believe in regular feature develop and frequent experimentation, allowing us to continuously improve the customer experience. You will have the opportunity to explore the many channels Amazon provides for customer outreach and engagement, both onsite and offsite. As a new team, we carry little tech debt. We prioritize writing high quality and maintainable code, and build systems that leverage existing tools to provide extensive test coverage across our services.   • Solve problems which require novel solutions in low-latency systems

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.2+ years of non-internship professional software development experienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent knowledge and skills and industry experience.3+ years of commercial software development experience in at least one modern language such as Java/Kotlin, C, or C# including object-oriented designExperience influencing software engineering best practices within your team, including design reviews, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience developing high quality, large scale consumer applicationsExperience with Relational and No SQL DatabasesExperience with machine learning and feedback loopsExperience driving operational improvementsExperience working with cross-functional teams including communicating with other technical teams, product management, and senior managementExperience mentoring junior software engineers to improve code quality
