Responsibilities Work in private residences, commercial properties. Install systems Comply with standards for safety and quality Use hand tools, power tools. Assemble, position and mount heating or cooling equipment, following blueprints. Cut and drill holes in floors, walls, and roof to install equipment, using power saws and drills. Fabricate, assemble and install duct work and chassis parts, using portable metal-working tools and welding equipment. Install auxiliary components to heating-cooling equipment, such as expansion and discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues and stokers, following blueprints. Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, humidistats and timers, using hand tools. Join pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water, or refrigerant source, to form complete circuit. Lay out and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment according to wiring diagram. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe or tubing, using pipe fitter's tools. installation of HVAC ductwork, including flexible tubing and sheet metal construction Wrap pipes in insulation, securing it in place with cement or wire bands. Able to troubleshoot a problem if one occurs during an install. Able to figure out how to get the system installed if there are complications. Make sure that all equipment is running and operating properly. Requirements Good communication skills (verbal communication, listening, and written communication) Ability to provide quality customer service Ability to work under stressful conditions Ability to pay close attention to detail while multi-tasking Functional/Technical Skills Work well with others Integrity and Trust DependablePhysical Demand: Must be able to work in extreme weather and climate conditions (hot attics, year-round outdoor conditions, etc.); Must be able to stand, crawl, bend, stoop, kneel or climb repeatedly (up to 25 times an hour), or for long periods of time (four up to two hours); Must be able to lift or carry up to 75 pounds unassisted, and lift above shoulder level; Must be able to work in tight, poorly lit and cramped conditions; Must be able to climb ladders and occasionally work at height; Must be able to execute all of the above functions and meet all of the above demands safely, posing no threat to themselves or those around them while doing so, and must willingly comply with applicable safety regulations in the completion of all work.
