Maintains correct paperwork and production records as required. Works under immediate supervision; relies on specific direction and instructions.Principal Duties / ResponsibilitiesProvides production departments with material from inventory according to production scheduleMoves material in process from one station to another (if necessary)Bands, wraps and/or packs finished goods, and labels materialMoves finished goods from production area to finished goods inventory (yard or warehouse)Assist production with bottle necks and other material needsProvides general preventive maintenance on equipmentCompletes pre-shift/startup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concernsMaintains rough material and finished goods inventory yard organized and cleanCompletes production records as requiredFollows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policyParticipates in safety, CI and other programs and meetingsPerforms other duties as requiredRequirementsKnowledgeMinimum 9th grade basic education; High school diploma/GED preferred but not requiredNo minimum experience is required; however, forklift driving experienced is preferredWorking knowledge of basic math and inventory techniquesSuccessfully complete Forklift Driver licensing processMust be at least 18 years of ageSkills and abilitiesAbility to work in a safe mannerAbility to recognize size/grade/quality of materialDemonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directionsDemonstrate ability to stack material properlyAbility to pay attention to surroundingsAbility to identify safety issues in their work area, and notice equipment malfunctionsAbility to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English; ability read and write basic EnglishAbility to frequently get on and off a forklift, to withstand operations in rough surfaces, to work in a wide range of weather condition, and operate a forklift for extended periods of timeDemonstrate eye-hand coordinationAbility to work under immediate supervisionAbility to pass a drug testAbility to work hours mandated by managementConductSafety consciousTeam player and goal orientedLeads by example and positive attitudeParticipates in Safety and CI programsPunctual and reliableLooks for ways to improve productivity and department resultsSalary/HourlyHourlyUniversal Forest Products and its subsidiaries and affiliates are equal opportunity employers.
