With 10 locations across the country, our network of distribution centers keep all of our online stores and retail locations stocked with all the best products for our customers’ pets. Position Purpose:Coordinate the order processing and replenishment stocking functions, ensuring proper shipment of smaller quantity items to Petco stores. Provides daily, functional guidance and instruction to Pickers in the small item zones and carousel area. This job is composed of a variety of specialized tasks that are similar in nature. Though general operating procedures covers most tasks, questions are referred to the supervisor as needed. Incumbents may work in one of the following departments in a clerical capacity: Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control, or Warehouse and may perform any of the duties listed herein.

Set-up and maintain documentation process for daily outbound deliveries and inbound receiving log, verifying merchandise received matches purchase orders.

Complete damaged merchandise/discrepancy paperwork and prepare damaged merchandise for transfer to RTV.

Conduct inventory cycle counts and adjusted stock counts to ensure the accuracy with which supplies are stocked in the warehouse and run daily inventory, productivity and analysis reports for distribution among management staff.

Audit pallets picked to measure accuracy.

Maintain Warehouse Librarian computer database and use it to research and identify product number, obtain SKU number and locate merchandise within the warehouse.

Using schedule completed by Supervisor, dispatch all outgoing trucks to Distribution Centers and Petco stores. When necessary, contact outside vendors to arrange for additional drivers or trailers to deliver merchandise.

Observe and promote established safety procedures and maintain a clean warehouse environment.

Efficiently create complex documents and/or reports using spreadsheet software.

Type correspondence and/or documents using WordPerfect software.

Efficiently enter data via 10-key by touch.

Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all contacts inside and outside the Company.

Supervisory Responsibility:Will provide daily, functional guidance to other employees, including assignment delegation, and instruction. In addition, the supervisor may solicit input towards the performance evaluations of co-workers.Work Environment:The duties of this position are performed in a warehouse environment the nature of which entails exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, fumes and/or noise. The majority of job duties are performed indoors, where the risk of injury should not be overlooked.Position Purpose:To plan, direct and manage the daily operation of a “main” distribution center through subordinate supervisors to ensure the timely and accurate receipt of inbound shipments; stock movement and completion of shipping of store orders. Supervisory Responsibility:The nature of this position entails supervising all distribution center employees through subordinate exempt level supervisors, to include interviewing, hiring, training, assignment delegation and follow through as well as periodic performance evaluation, disciplinary action and termination when necessary.Work Environment:While some job duties are performed while seated indoors, the majority of the time is spent in the distribution center, where exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, fumes and noises should not be overlooked. The incumbent may also be required on occasion to work in the warehouse where there may also be risk of injury resulting from improper procedures. Education/Experience:The minimum educational background of an applicant to this position is two years of college at an accredited institution or equivalent experience. A four-year degree in business, management or logistics is preferred. In addition, a qualified applicant will have a strong working knowledge of basic distribution center management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, accounting relationships and inventory control procedures through experience. At least 10 years of distribution center/warehouse experience is required.
